Originally from Napier, I've been lucky enough to call a few beautiful countries home over the past 25 years. I first moved to England, then spent several years in Scotland before heading to Canada.
Living in Alberta and British Columbia truly ignited my passion for photography. I found myself photographing breathtaking landscapes, live music, wildlife, sporting events, and, most importantly, the incredible people I met along the way. Photography became the reason to get out of bed at 4 a.m. in temperatures below -20°C. Driving through the darkness to reach spectacular locations in the Rocky Mountains became a normal weekend adventure.
After returning to New Zealand, I photographed everything from nightclubs and motorsport to family portraits, magazines, and weddings. Eventually, I began working as a photojournalist, and I believe that experience shaped my photography more than anything else.
That role gave me the opportunity to photograph everyone from internationally renowned musicians and Prime Ministers to gang members and everyday people with extraordinary stories. I met people whose experiences would break your heart, and others who seemed to have the world at their feet. Every person I photographed left an impression, and every story taught me something new.
I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. When I returned from Canada, I brought home two fur-covered family members who, over the years, have been endlessly patient photography subjects. They helped me realise what I truly want my photography to capture.
There is something extraordinary about the loyalty, trust, and unconditional friendship that the animals we welcome into our lives give so freely. Those quiet moments, the wagging tails, the curious looks, the excitement, and the calm companionship are memories that deserve to last forever.
My goal is simple: to create photographs that capture not just how your pet looks, but who they are. Their personality, their spirit, and the bond you share.
I sincerely hope I can continue this journey by creating those memories for you and your family.
